- For the next few weeks, starting this Sunday 3 April, we are holding social online bridge sessions via Real Bridge every Sunday (except Easter Sunday) starting at 7pm and you are invited. These sessions are being offered to give you another playing option during these uncertain times. Here is the link for the first one: SundaySocial3rdApril
- With the update in traffic light settings on Friday 25 March, there is a relaxing in some of the restrictions. You no longer need to scan in and record keeping is no longer mandatory. Vaccine passes are still required for now and face mask rules remain unchanged. Please continue to wear your masks when at the table. Tea, coffee and biscuits are back on the table.
- A lovely afternoon was had at the pre-AGM social bridge session on Sunday. Congratulations to Lynne Bruce and Vil Gravis for achieving the top North/South result and Evan & Judy Voyce for coming top East/West.
- We welcome two new members to our 2022-2023 committee, Margaret Gallaher and Lesley Haines, and retain existing members Joan Finley, Kathryn Badcock, Ria Janssen, Margaret Carter and Jill Herman in her role as Immediate Past-President. Madeleine Askew retains her position as Vice-President and Steve Graves, Treasurer. Loek Strik has stepped down from the committee and there is a vacancy for the role as President.
- We are hosting a regional open tournament, the 3A Mixed Sex Pairs, online via RealBridge on Easter Monday 18 April. The cost to enter is $25. Sign up on the noticeboard or online here.
- Saturday Revision is on this Saturday at 10:30am in the playing room.
- The lesson next week Monday 4 April is “Opening 1NT.” All members are welcome to attend. The lesson starts at 7:15pm.
- Congratulations to our Interclub teams who had wins on Friday 18 March: Intermediate teams captained by Elaine Richardson and Joan Finley and Phillip King’s Junior team. Round 2 will be held on Friday 8 April 2022. The draw is on the noticeboard and here.
