- Please do not come to bridge if you are unwell. Please also remember to be vigilant with hand washing. Use the hand sanitisers that are dotted around the club regularly.
- Saturday Revision class is on this Saturday at 10:30am in the playing room.
- Week 10 of the lessons next week Monday 21 September will cover the topic: “Strong Opening Bids.” All members are welcome to attend.
- We are hosting the annual Hutt/Upper Hutt Challenge on Friday 2 October. Table money is $7 and please bring a plate of food to share. A complimentary drink will be offered after play. Sign up and help us keep the Cup!

- Interclub this Friday (11th Sep) is cancelled. At this stage, all grades will play to the same draw in the next round scheduled 16th Oct, albeit with most teams at different venues.

- Our Hutt Intermediate tournament held on Sunday 9 August was very successful. Thank you to Ryman Healthcare for sponsoring the tournament. Thank you to Madeleine Askew and helpers for a smoothly run event. Congratulations to Jill Herman and Elaine Richardson who came 3rd, Megan Turner and Sue Storer who came 2nd and Wayne Stechman and Kevin Moar (Wellington Bridge Club) who came first. - Hutt had a successful evening at Interclub last Friday night. Congratulations to the following teams on their wins: Open (captained by Ken Barnett); Open Restricted (Phil Revell); Intermediate 1 and 3 (Tracey Mitchell & Loek Strik); 3 Junior teams (Joan Finley, Jackie Upchurch & Neil Sargisson); and the Novice team (Bernice Singh). The next round of Interclub is on 11 September.
- The fence is likely to be built this week. It may affect evening parking.

- AJ’s Saturday Revision class recommences this Saturday 8 August at 10:30am in the playing room. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

- The club is having an in-house raffle. Thank you Stella Edwards for making and donating the little people. Tickets are one for $2 or three for $5. Please sign the sheet and put your money in the basket.

- Congratulations to Doug O’Halloran & Candice Ng who came top at the Kapi Mana Intermediate Junior Multigrade tournament held on Sunday 26 July.
- Please note there is no Saturday revision class this coming Saturday 1 August.

These are sitting on the table at the South end of the playing room nearest the Director’s room and may be of appeal to grandchildren. Tickets are one for $2 or three for $5. - Please note that Gerry Williams is not playing bridge for the remainder of the year if you had a series booked with him. He is hoping to be back at the club in 2021.

- The first round of Interclub was held on Friday night. Thank you to Jill Marsden and helpers for hosting a fun and successful evening. - Want to brush up or have a niggling question answered? AJ’s Saturday revision classes are on every Saturday at 10:30am in the playing room. All are welcome including non-members. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

- Saturday revision classes are back on starting this Saturday. Want to brush up or have a niggling question answered? AJ’s Q&A session will start at 10:30am in the playing room. All are welcome including non-members. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
- Wellington Bridge Club are running a 3A Restricted tournament on 26 July. This is the first tournament of its kind in Wellington. It is for players with less than 100A points at the time of the event. This will suit upper level intermediate players and newly promoted Open grade players. See the noticeboard for more details.
- A service for Janice Butterfield will be held at Gee & Hickton’s Cornwall Manor on Saturday 11 July at 1:30pm.
- Megan is working from home on Tuesday and Thursday this week and is on leave on Wednesday. Do send emails or leave phone messages as these will be cleared and responded to daily.

- A lovely afternoon was had at the pre-AGM social bridge session. Congratulations to Vil Gravis and Lynne Bruce for achieving the top North/South result and Candice Ng and Megan Turner for coming top East/West!
- The AGM was very successful. Thanks go to Ryman Healthcare for another delicious spread. We welcome a new member to our 2020-2021 committee, Loek Strik and retain existing members Kathryn Badcock, Madeleine Askew, and Joan Finley. Raewyn Dowman has stepped down as President with Jill Herman taking up the helm. Steve Graves retains his role as Treasurer.
- Please help yourself to a cloth bag or jigsaw puzzle outside the office. Thank you to Ray White Real Estate and Ryman Healthcare for providing us with the bags.
