Notices w/c 15 February 2020

  • We are now back at Alert Level 1. It is important that we as individuals and as a club remain vigilant about observing the now familiar health and hygiene requirements. These include not coming to bridge if you are unwell, keeping up the hand washing and using the sanitiser provided, as well as scanning the QR code to help with contact tracing.
  • Just a reminder our Multigrade tournament is on Sunday 28 February. We do need some helpers and some more offers of baking. Commitment for helpers is only 1-2 hours. There is a sheet on the notices table.
  • Lessons start Monday 15 March. Please tell family and friends. Flyers are on the notices table.
  • The office is closed Tuesday this week and Megan is working from home.
  • Swiss Pairs starts Tuesday 9 March. You must sign up to play. See the noticeboard.
  • Monday and Friday playing committees currently only have two members. Please consider stepping up to join the committee. Talk to a current playing committee member or Megan to find out more.
  • This is the last week to get your Interclub team together. Interclub teams need to be registered with Megan by 18 February.
  • Saturday revision classes start this Saturday 20 February.

Notices w/c 8 February 2020

  • Please note that our carpets and chairs have all been cleaned recently. If you accidentally spill a beverage please do attend to it as soon as possible and clean it up. Handy towels and water are the best way to clean up any spills.
  • Our Multigrade tournament is on Sunday 28 February. Thank you to our sponsor Gee & Hickton for supporting this popular tournament once again. Consider playing with somebody from another grade, particularly a junior or new player. If you are not playing we do require some helpers on the day. Commitment would be 1-2 hours only. And of course we would like some baking. Sign up on the noticeboard or directly on NZBridge website
  • The 2021 annual subscription is now overdue. Please pay as soon as possible.

  • Martyn is stepping down from the Friday playing committee so we need another member to join Jackie & Therese. Please let a current playing committee member or Megan know if you are interested.

  • The 2021 annual subscription is now overdue. Please pay as soon as possible to retain your membership with the club.
  • Saturday Revision classes start 20 February. There is a slight increase in cost this year: $8 for members and $12 for non-members.
  • Next Wednesday 10 February, the film crew will be filming in the area again and hiring the club rooms during the day. The session will go ahead Wednesday evening but there may be limited parking as the film crew remove their vehicles. The office will be closed during the day both Tuesday 9 Feb and Wednesday 10 Feb but Megan will be working from home and checking emails and phone messages.
  • The Monday playing committee needs another member to join Louise and Frances. Please consider joining the committee, your club needs you. To find out more talk to a current playing committee member or Megan.

  • It’s time to get your Interclub team together for 2021. See the noticeboard for dates and grade requirements. Important to note is that there is an increase to table money and Interclub will be $8 per session this year. Please enter your team on the entry form on the noticeboard or email your team entry to Megan.
  • Just a reminder that the 2021 annual subscription is due at the end of this week. If you are still to pay and you have misplaced your invoice please contact Megan.
  • Saturday Revision classes were to start 13 February but there has been a slight delay and they will now start Saturday 20 February.

  • We are lucky to be in NZ and able to play bridge at the club. Please remember that this privilege brings the responsibility to not come to bridge when unwell. Use the COVID contact tracer app, and wash your hands or use the provided sanitiser regularly.
  • Next Monday 25 January is Wellington Anniversary Day. The office is closed and there is no bridge. Enjoy the long weekend.

  • Just a reminder that table money for the prize-giving closing session of play is $4. You are welcome to pay by cash or direct debit.
  • The office will be closed from Wednesday 23 December. Bridge commences Wednesday 6 January and there will be limited office hours during the following week. Normal office hours will resume Wednesday 13 January.

  • The final Saturday revision class for the year is this Saturday 12 December at 10:30am in the playing room. Saturday revision will resume on Saturday 13 February 2021.

Notices w/c 30 November 2020

  • The final night of Interclub on Friday 27 November was a successful one for Hutt. Congratulations to our junior team of Neil Sargisson, Jacob Pilalis, Peter Snethlage and Dianna Snethlage on winning the grade. Also, congratulations to Jackie Upchurch’s team on finishing fourth, and to Phil Revell’s open restricted team for coming 3rd. We also had three teams who had wins: Tracey Mitchell’s intermediate team, Joan Finley’s junior team and our novice team captained by Bernice Singh. A great way to end the Interclub year.
  • The 2021 programme book has arrived and is in a named envelope in the foyer for you to pick up.
  • Saturday revision is on this Saturday 5 December at 10:30am in the playing room.
