Interclub
It’s been a great year with wins in two grades. Congratulations to the open restricted team of Madeleine Askew, Eleisha Hawkins, Marian Loader, Deidre Stallinger and captained by Jeffry Craanen, and the Junior team of James Fulton, Daniel Marks, Ian Pronk, John Topp, Nathan Tucker and captained by Margaret Carter. Well done on coming first! And to Angela Banks intermediate team in their good win on Friday night by 70 points in the intermediate grade Also, big thanks to all the other teams who represented the club throughout the year. We’ve made our club proud. - Congratulations to Ian and Genevieve Pronk for coming 2nd in the Waikanae Junior tournament on Sunday.
- The Loveblock NZ Wide Pairs is on Friday 15 November, the cost is $15 which includes a booklet detailing all the hands. We would love more entries, please sign up on the noticeboard.
- We are having a working bee on Saturday, November 23rd at 10 am to clean up the club rooms inside and out. If you have some free time to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please put your name on the clipboard on the notice table or let Ruth Know.

- Congratulations to our two open restricted teams captained by Jeffry Craanen and David Haines for their wins on Friday night. The last round of Interclub is this Friday, 1 November. Good luck to all teams.
- Loveblock NZ Wide Pairs is on Friday 15 November, cost $15 to enter and you get a booklet and there will be a cash bar open and please enter the noticeboard.
- Stop cards NZ Bridge have decided not to use them, so the committee decided to phase them out. Stop use of them by January 2025.

Get your team together for this series beginning on September 16 and running till Labour Weekend. Monday Night Teams Ladder
Monday nights 7 – 10pm: 16, 23, 30 Sep & 7, 14, 21 Oct
Objective
• To familiarise players with teams play, from scoring to tactics, and to improve
everyone’s bridge play.
Format
• One match per session of 16 boards
• Discussion covering any aspects from play during the session.
• First session randomly drawn, then teams will be graded to form a ranking based on their score.
Target audience
• Juniors who want to improve knowledge and play.
• Intermediate/Open players who want to improve and expand on their methods and tactics as well as their general play.
Teams
• Get a full team and determine a captain.
• Captain will be responsible to make sure everyone turns up.
• Substitutes may be found in exceptional circumstances.
• Table money = $10 per person, per session

- Congratulations to Russell Dive and Partner for winning the Kairangi Multi grade on Sunday.
- Hutt Intermediate tournament on Saturday was a great success. 13 tables, an excellent director/scorer team of Colin Hayward and Chris Jared, delicious and abundant food. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen - especially to Ruth as chief organiser.
Winners on the day were Eleisha Hawkins (Hutt) and Walt Davis (Wellington), with Denise Barnett and Wayne Stechman (Wellington) second, and Candice Ng and Ian Posseniskie (Hutt) third. Congratulations especially to our Hutt players who made the top three!
- Have you noticed that our building facade is looking much better?? Thanks very much to Paul Badcock who did the water blasting. Brian Ross from upstairs is doing his shortly, giving our building the facelift it so badly needs!
