Notices w/c 4 October 2021

  • Please scan in using the QR code or if you don’t have a smart phone complete a slip and put it in the record keeping box in the foyer. Mask wearing is highly recommended but if you have not been vaccinated then wearing a mask is mandatory please. There are disposable masks available in the Director’s room. All the usual hygiene requirements apply. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available but there will be no supper breaks. Sanitise your hands and use the tongs. Please bring your own pen. No visitors please.

  • Improver lessons next Monday 11 October will cover the topic Play Techniques. The start time is 7:00pm. All members are welcome. If you wish to attend particular lessons the cost is $15 per lesson.
  • This is the final week to confirm your contact details for the 2022 programme book. Please check the list on the notices table and confirm that the contact details we have for you are correct or if not, advise of any changes. Please place a tick next to your name if the details are correct.

There are also contact tracer booklets on the table in the foyer which you can use to keep a manual record of where you go if you don’t have a phone. Mask wearing is highly recommended.   • Improver lessons start Monday 20 September at 7:00pm. These lessons will be taught by Vil Gravis and will follow the NZBridge Improvers course. They are aimed at players with about 2 years experience but anyone is welcome. There are a total of 10 lessons and payment for the full course is required in advance. The total cost is $100. The first lesson covers stayman. If you are interested please let Megan know.

  • Hutt had a successful night of Interclub on Friday 13 August. Congratulations to the following teams: Phil Revell’s open restricted team and Jeffry Craanen’s intermediate 1 team, Junior 1 & 2 captained by Neil Sargisson & Jackie Upchurch, and Nathan Tucker’s novice team on their draw.

  • At the Upper Hutt Multigrade tournament on Sunday 15 Aug, congratulations to Bernice Singh and Margaret Carter who were the top Junior Pair and came 6th overall. Also congratulations to Nebojsa Djorovic and Derek Snelling who were 2nd overall and Bryan Cunliffe and Charlie Vilain who came 4th.

  • The Quiz night held Friday 30 July was a lovely evening and successful fundraiser with much fun had. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and to AJ for being MC. Thanks also to Madeleine Askew, Raewyn Dowman and Phil Revell for their work in the kitchen and on the bar. Congratulations to “The Dunnoes’ who were 1st, and the ‘Cobblers’ and ‘No Name Quizzers’ who were 2nd equal.

  • Westport Bridge Club are asking for donations to help their members who have red sticker homes and may need help buying items they have lost due to the recent flooding in the area. If you think you can help please deposit a donation into the bank account or put money into the basket on the notices table.

  • Hutt had a successful evening of Interclub for round 5 held Friday 16 July. Thank you to Jill Marsden and helpers for a smooth running evening. Congratulations to the following teams on their wins: the Novice team captained by Nathan Tucker; Junior teams captained by Neil Sargisson and John Roseveare; and Intermediate teams captained by Jeffry Craanen and Joan Finley.
  • Congratulations to Jeffry Craanen & Simon Webber who picked up a session prize at the Karori Intermediate tournament on Sunday 18 July.

  • The Quiz night is on Friday 30 July 7pm. Note you can pay the entry fee of $10 by either EFTPOS or direct debit. We do need more donations please. Donations of wine, chocolates and goodies can be left in the box in the foyer.

Notices w/c 12 July 2021

  • Please remain vigilant observing the now familiar health and hygiene requirements. These include not coming to bridge if you are unwell, keeping up the hand washing, using the sanitiser provided and scanning the QR code to help with contact tracing.
  • Hutt hosted the Wellington Region Club Champs on Sunday 11 July. Karori Bridge Club were the overall winners taking out the top prize. Nelson Procter and Russell Dive came 3rd in the Open section.
  • Round 5 of Interclub is on Friday 16 July. Please see this link for the draw.
  • Saturday Revision is on this Saturday 24 July 10:30am in the playing room.
