Notices w/c 4 Match 2019

  • Our Gee & Hickton Multigrade tournament on Sunday was very successful! A huge thank you to Raewyn and all the volunteer bakers and helpers. Congratulations to Maciej Szczesny & Mariusz Tumilowicz who came third overall:

  • Congratulations to Elizabeth Schuck who has been selected for the NZ Youth Squad!
  • The flyers for the lessons have all been taken now. Thank you to everyone who has helped to distribute them around your neighbourhood.
  • The date for the AGM is confirmed as Sunday 24 March at 5pm. A fun bridge session will be held prior to the AGM starting at 2:30pm. Drinks and nibbles will be provided. All welcome. Please sign up, the form is on the West side noticeboard.
  • The Wellington Sixes tournament will be held on Saturday 16 March at Wellington Bridge Club. They need more teams particularly Junior teams. They also have Junior teams that need more players to make up a team of six. See noticeboard for more details and how to enter or click here

  • Gee & Hickton Hutt Multigrade is on Sunday 3 March. More details here. We would very much appreciate your help with baking. A baking sheet is on the notices table in the playing room.
  • There are still a large number of lessons flyers to deliver. We need your help in distributing these around your area. Street maps and highlighters are on the table. Please highlight the streets you will deliver pamphlets to.
  • A sign-up sheet for the Tuesday night Swiss Pairs starting 5 March is on the noticeboard. Remember, you must sign up to play please.

  • Would you like to play Interclub in 2019? Members across all grades are encouraged to participate. If you don’t have a team use the entry form "no team" and a team will be found for you. Please complete your entries by Friday 22 Feb.

  • Congratulations to our Hutt members Nelson Procter and John Donbavand for winning Waikanae Open Tournament last Sunday 10 Feb 2019!
  • Hutt Bridge Club has a new Facebook page. You can access it by going to facebook.com/huttbridgeclub or clicking Facebook icon at the top of the Hutt Bridge Cub website. Club's Facebook page is regularly updated with posts, photos and events so make sure you like it and invite your Facebook friends to like it as well!
  • Thank you to everyone who has paid their annual subscription for 2019. The due date was 31 January. If you have not paid your subscription yet we would appreciate your attention to this as soon as possible please.
  • Directors training for 2019 begins on 23 Feb. This year two different Directors training courses will be presented. One is a short 3 lesson course aimed at those who do not wish to take the exam but are interested in helping out with directing at their home club. The second is the full course which prepares candidates for the NZ Bridge Club Directors exam to be held later in the year. See the noticeboard for more details or visit our Facebook page.
  • Our first tournament for the year is the Gee & Hickton Hutt Multigrade and it will be held on Sunday 3 March. More details here.

  • During the Wellington Christmas Cheer tournament held on Sat 8th Dec Maciej Szczesny (in the photo below with all the trophies/awards received on the day) and his partner Mariusz Tumilowicz (from Karori Bridge Club) were the best Junior Pair of the tournament:

    After the tournament the annual prize giving happened. Junior Hutt 1 team were officially awarded a trophy for winning Junior Interclub 2018 competition - congratulations to all members of the team: Andeana Pilalis (captain) (with the trophy in the photo below), Susan Flavin, Jane McDougall, Julie Newsome, Raewyn Dowman, Graham Goudge and Maciej Szczesny.

    Also, awards were given to the winner and runner-up of the Junior League 2018 - congratulations to Maciej Szczesny and Andeana Pilalis (with Regional Bridge Mate Katherine Gough in the photo below)!
  • The office will be closed from Wednesday 19 December and will reopen on Monday 14 January. Bridge commences Monday 7 January and there will be limited office hours during this week. The office will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11am to 1pm.
