- The Upper Hutt Multigrade Tournament was held over the weekend and congratulations to the following Hutt Club players:
♠ Jeffry Craanen and Martyn Dowman - 1st overall
♥ Nebojsa Djorovic & Donna Upchurch (Wellington) – 3rd overall
♦ Graham Goudge & Julie Newsome – top Junior-Junior pair - A reminder Megan is on leave this week and returns on Monday 26 August. The office has limited opening hours over this period: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11am to 1pm.

Hutt Intermediate Tournament was held last Sunday (11 Aug). A big thank you to Madeleine Askew, Phil Revell, helpers and members who provided lovely baking for the tournament over the weekend. Congratulations to Ian Possenenneskie and Martyn Dowman who came first and to Catherine Chapman and Sharyn Bowen who were placed second. A great result for the Hutt Club!

- Congratulations to Peter Hawkes and Paul Holder who won the afternoon session and came third overall at the Kapiti Junior tournament held Sunday 21 July.
- We hosted Interclub on Friday night and once again it was a very successful evening. Thank you to Diana Pratchett and Bernice Singh for their help on the night. Congratulations to both the open teams captained by Maciej Szczesny and Marian Loader, the Intermediate 1 team captained by Simon Webber and the novice team captained by Neil Sargisson on their wins.

- The Wellington Regional Champs were held over the weekend. In first and second place were two Wellington teams. Hutt finished up in 6th place overall. Paul Badcock and Nelson Procter finished 3rd overall in the Open section and in the Open Restricted section Debbie Wolak & Deidre Stallinger finished 3rd overall. Well done team!

- Congratulations to Team Watson comprising of Dougal Watson, Elizabeth Schuck, Nelson Procter & Peter Newell (Wgtn Bridge Club) who won the Kairangi Multigrade Teams tournament on Sunday 7 July.
- Congratulations to Heather Mulholland who has picked up a session ticket for providing the best answer to Vil’s poser in Vil’s Corner of June Finesse.

- Interclub: Interclub results from Friday 21 June: Congratulations to Intermediate 3 and 4 teams captained by Kathryn Badcock and Hans Jorgensen, Junior 1 and 2 captained by Joan Finley and Meike Wensvoort and the novice team captained by Neil Sargisson on their wins. See the noticeboard for the draw for round 5.
- Wed: Wednesday is graduation night for our learners and Mid-winter night. All members are welcome, members please bring a plate to share.

- Attention: The venue for the Wellington Regional Club Champs has been moved from Hutt to Wellington Bridge Club.
Original announcement: Hutt is hosting the Wellington Regional Club Champs again this year. This tournament will be on Sunday 14 July. The Wellington Regional Committee is providing a light morning team. Additional baking would be most appreciated please and help is also needed with end of play nibbles and bar duties please? There is a sheet on the notices table, please indicate if you are able to help with baking and if you could help on the bar at end of play please.

- The Quiz night held Friday 14 June was another very successful evening and fundraiser with much fun had. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and to AJ for being MC extraordinaire and Phil Revell and Madeleine Askew for their work in the kitchen and on the bar. Congratulations to Bridge to Nowhere who came first, Somewhat Evil who were second and Double Down who were third.
